- Gastrointestinal Issues: Diarrhea, constipation, and nausea are common. These usually resolve on their own. If these persist or worsen, contact your doctor immediately. Headaches: Some babies experience headaches. This is usually mild and temporary. If headaches are severe or frequent, seek medical advice. Skin Reactions: Rashes or hives are possible. Stop the medication and contact your doctor if you observe any skin changes. Increased Risk of Infection: Studies suggest a potential, albeit small, increased risk of infection in some infants taking PPIs like Prevacid. This warrants monitoring for any signs of infection.
