Potential Side Effects and Adverse Reactions

Betapace AF, like all medications, can cause side effects. Some are common, others are less frequent. The frequency varies among individuals.

Common side effects include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and dizziness. These usually are mild and resolve without intervention. If they persist or worsen, contact your doctor.

Less common, but potentially more serious, side effects include irregular heartbeat (arrhythmias), low blood pressure (hypotension), shortness of breath, and chest pain. Seek immediate medical attention if you experience any of these symptoms.

Bradycardia, a slow heart rate, is another possible side effect. Your doctor will monitor your heart rate regularly. Rarely, Betapace AF can cause liver problems. Yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice) requires prompt medical evaluation.

Allergic reactions, although infrequent, can occur. Symptoms might include rash, itching, swelling, and difficulty breathing. Stop taking Betapace AF and seek emergency medical care if you have an allergic reaction.
