Factors Affecting Viagra’s Potency: Storage Conditions

Store Viagra in a cool, dry place, ideally between 68°F and 77°F (20°C and 25°C). Avoid extreme temperatures – both heat and cold degrade the active ingredient, sildenafil citrate.

Keep Viagra tablets in their original container. This protects them from moisture and light. Exposure to sunlight or ultraviolet light can decrease their effectiveness.

Moisture is a significant factor. High humidity can cause the tablets to deteriorate faster. A medicine cabinet is generally acceptable, but choose one away from a shower or other sources of steam.

Avoid storing Viagra in areas exposed to significant temperature fluctuations, such as near a heating or cooling vent. Consistent temperature is key to maintaining potency.

Never crush or break Viagra tablets. Doing so exposes the sildenafil citrate to oxygen and moisture, diminishing its efficacy. Swallow the pills whole with water as directed.

Check the expiration date printed on the packaging. After the expiration date, the drug may no longer be as effective and should be disposed of properly, according to your pharmacist’s guidance.
