Shingles (Herpes Zoster): Adults often take 800mg five times daily for seven days. This dosage may differ depending on the severity of the condition and individual patient factors.

Other Infections:

Aciclovir is also used to treat other viral infections, including herpes encephalitis (brain infection). Dosage in such cases is determined individually by a physician and is usually higher and administered intravenously.
