Dosage and Administration Guidelines

Always follow your doctor’s instructions. The usual starting dose for adults and children 12 years and older is two inhalations twice daily. Your doctor may adjust this based on your response to treatment. For children 4 to 11 years old, the usual starting dose is one or two inhalations twice daily, also adjusted as needed.

Using Your Inhaler Correctly

Before your first use, prime the inhaler by releasing four test sprays into the air. Shake the inhaler well before each use. Hold the inhaler upright, with the mouthpiece facing up. Breathe out completely. Place the mouthpiece between your lips and take a slow, deep breath while pressing down on the inhaler to release the medication. Hold your breath for 10 seconds, then exhale slowly. If you need a second inhalation, wait about 1 minute before repeating the process.

Clean the mouthpiece regularly with a dry cloth or tissue. If you experience any side effects, such as a fast heartbeat or tremor, inform your doctor immediately. Regularly check the counter on your inhaler to monitor the number of doses remaining. Replace your inhaler once the counter reaches zero.

Missed Dose

If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember unless it is almost time for your next dose. Never double the dose to make up for a missed one.
