Wash your hands thoroughly before applying the ointment.
Gently remove the protective cap from the tube. Apply a thin layer of Bactroban nasal ointment inside each nostril, as directed by your doctor. Use the applicator provided if one is included, or use a clean fingertip.
Apply the ointment twice daily, typically morning and night, for the duration prescribed by your doctor. Avoid touching the tip of the tube to your nose or other surfaces to maintain its cleanliness and prevent contamination.
After application, avoid blowing your nose for at least 30 minutes to allow the medication to properly absorb.
Store the ointment at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and heat.
Complete the full course of treatment, even if your symptoms improve before the prescribed end date. Discontinuing treatment prematurely could lead to the recurrence of infection.
If you experience any unexpected side effects, discontinue use and contact your doctor immediately.
